For the past year now I've owned a pair of black sneakers. Rough around the edges, rubber tips on the toes, and the constant look of nearly falling apart, yet never before have they failed me. I purchased them on a suggestion from my girlfriend who I was to meet in Spain, awkwardly enough with my mother with me in the store as she insisted on coming. As she was off looking for a pair of the usual loafers so I could be a "nice young man", as she would put it, I knew right as I saw the pitch black sneakers that those were the ones I must have. They fit me just right (hard for thin size 13) but certainly weren't afraid of looking instantly dirty the second I'd accidentally step into a puddle, or leaking from rain, or even threatening to fall apart from any sort of abuse whatsoever. Nevertheless, I've been using them for nearly a year now and I don't know how it's possible, but they've kept in one piece and have carried me through two European trips and one of the harshest winters I've seen yet. My girlfriend sensibly wears ladies Wellies on the filthiest of days, while I faithfully stick to my black sneakers. They truly mean a lot to me. And for your information, my girlfriend approves.

The way different people manage and mediate arguments reflects a lot about their personality. Personally, I am a very amicable and peace loving person. Whenever I encounter arguments in my personal relationship with various people, I try to resolve it amicably. I believe that arguments are healthy as long as you talk and discuss, but should not take matters to heart or hold grudges. Then settle down on a middle path which suits both the persons involved in an argument. However if you feel that the other person is not ready to settle down, you need to act mature. I feel if you have control over your own feelings, then you need not go on to argue endlessly just because the other person is going on. I often put an end to an argument just by letting go of it and then talking to the same person in a better place and time. This does not mean I lose the argument or let the other person dominate me; I just stop from making the arguments turn nasty. So my magic way to deal with arguments is just to follow this rule: "Learn where to put an end to arguments and don't just go on".

I am quite the home improvement enthusiast and love making my home more livable and secure. I recently installed some new legge locks around the home for example. But as you fix one problem, a new one occurs. Recently I have been noticing stains in my carpet. At first it was just a few here and there, but upon closer inspection I have realized that the stains are much more extensive than I realized. It seems that having carpet for years has allowed particular stains to become permanent. Having tile just seems easier. First of all, it would be much easier to clean; spills, stains, and other unnecessary things are just more convenient to take care of. Moreover, stains would not accumulate, mold and mildew would not be a issue with tile like they would be with carpet. The bottom line is that having tiles will be significantly more convenient than having carpet because of the two factors I have already mentioned. The lack of stains and the ease with which to clean any potential mess.

Most of the times when I am washing utensils in the house, I wear gloves because I do not want my hands to get destroyed and neither do I wish for my nails to break down. The only thing that I think I do wrong is that when I am working around the house and my phone rings, I do not bother to remove the gloves but I hold my phone with the gloves, and it is a touch screen in this case. I have realized that there are times when the screen goes white and there is no operation that can take place if this happens. My question is: Why Is My Ipod Touch Screen White and could it be that the gloves I hold it with are causing this. I read an instruction during my research for my question to find out why the screen turns white, and so I held the power and the home button until the whole screen went black, after some while everything was okay but then the screen went back to being white after some time. Do I need to work on something to ensure that my touch screen does not get spoilt?

Sleeping In On Weekends Is Customary In the House

Most Saturdays everyone in the house would sleep in and wake up really late either by noon time or early afternoon. Last Saturday was no different but I was surprised to find myself waking up as early as 8 AM and having difficulty going back to sleep. I ended up going to the kitchen for a cup of coffee while mentally jotting down the things I need to get done. I was surprised to see Lucy dressed and finishing her breakfast. She saw me and smiled saying she has to go attend a call centre outsourcing seminar. She said she hates it but there's nothing she can do since attendance is mandatory and of course she'd be paid premium for her over time. She left in a rush and I was left all alone in the kitchen and I find the silence relaxing. So this is what it feels like when everyone else in the house is asleep. I finished my coffee and headed back upstairs to shower ready to start the day. I intend to get a lot done.

Workplace accidents, though sometimes seem like few and far between, are in all reality, a very common occurance. Accidents in the workplace can be as simple as a slip and fall, or more complicated, such as being injured due to faulty equipment, or workplace error on a co-worker's part.
Generally, when there is an accident in the workplace, no matter what form, first things first, and that is, to make sure the injured employee is okay. This may include a visit to the hospital emergency room, or their own personal general practitioner. This is followed by an accident report, where the employee would outline all the steps that lead up to the accident in the workplace, such as where they were at the time of the accident, what time of day the accident occured, if there were any other people involved in the accident, or any people who happened to witness what happened. This would most likely be followed by a description of injuries, as well as attaching the doctors or emergency room report of injuries to the accident report.

Alot of times, an accident does not require the employee to have any time out of work, they may go to the emergency room, get checked out, with an xray, or just a general physical observation, to ensure they are alright, and there are no broken bones or internal injuries of any kind, and are told just to go home for the day. They can most likely return to work the following day, or soon there after.
An injury that leads an employee to being out of work for an extensive period of time, would be processed through different channels.
After the hospital or doctor's visit, the writing of the accident and hospital reports are completed, everything has to be submitted to the employer's insurance company.
Chances are, the employee will need to be seen by more physicians, to get an idea on how the injury is progressing, what the game plan is for treatment, and how long it could possibly be before he/she can return to work again.
After this process is said and done, workmans compensation would come into effect. This is the process that would take over, seeing that the injured employee continues to get paid while recovering, which is gives them one less thing to worry about, while waiting to return to work.

Accidents at work can happen anytime, anywhere, and no one is immune. It does take training, for the employee to know how to best do his/her job, and do it properly, to avoid any possible accidents or injuries. Most companies have a health and safety team, that specialize in ensuring everyone is safe in the workplace, through training and education.
